about

These two Dylan covers have always been personal favorites. Both were written during Dylan and The Band's self-imposed Big Pink exile in West Saugerties, NY. For me, they created the whole genre we now call "Americana." So, it's not surprising that I'd gravitated to "Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn)" and "You Ain't Going Nowhere". I’d first heard Manfred Mann's hit version of "Mighty Quinn" in 1968 and The Byrds' country rock reading of "You Ain't Going Nowhere" from their seminal album Sweethearts of the Rodeo.
